Hematology Oncology
Educational Specialists

The Legislative Committee identifies the educational needs for patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses, raises awareness of the issues, and, when necessary seeks policy reform to improve the educational outcomes for these patients.  This is achieved by:

  • Identification of common educational needs and legislative policy issues as they pertain to the APHOES mission
  • Development of a national alliance infrastructure to support initiatives
  • Recruitment of professionals and organizations to join the alliance that represent other disease groups
  • Identification of legislative champions and solicit their support
  • Implementation of regional and national events to raise awareness and seek reform
