The Association of Pediatric

Hematology Oncology Educational Specialists

Multiple Disciplines, One Mission

The Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Educational Specialists (APHOES) is a group of professionals working together to address the educational needs of pediatric hematology and oncology patients. APHOES membership is inclusive of a wide range of disciplines such as nursing, psychology, social work, child life, school and hospital-based education, and medicine.

The association was first established in November 2005 out of a shared desire to improve educational outcomes for pediatric hematology and oncology patients through standard methods proven to produce positive results. Since its inception, APHOES members have gathered to draft and refine recommendations, network with other professionals and collaborate on a wide variety of projects. Through these meetings, APHOES offered opportunities for professional development. Today, APHOES is proud to host an annual national conference aimed at providing professional development opportunities to all members through a robust presentation agenda.
